Daybreak @ Del Mar

Known as one of San Diego’s best kept secrets, ‘Daybreak at Del Mar’ is definitely a personal favorite during the summer racing season. With racing at Del Mar coming to a close on September 7, only two weekends remain to experience and enjoy this weekend affair.

Offering early risers an opportunity to dine trackside while enjoying morning workouts, 'Daybreak at Del Mar' has since 2000 afforded guests a behind-the-scenes and “insider” look into the sport; the breakfast is hosted and narrated by Jeff Bloom – a former jockey, discussing workout strategy and practice, notables on the field, as well as an open Q&A session.

Breakfast is served Saturdays and Sundays from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Clubhouse Terrace. Only two weekends remain for the racing season at Del Mar, ending ‘Daybreak at Del Mar’ on Sunday, September 4. For more information visit Del Mar Thoroughbred Club online.

And for the serious player or wager, Stable Notes are a great way of finding out what’s going on at the track – between horses and their jockey’s, owners and the races. Below are a few photos from a recent weekend workout.
